An 18-year-old student from the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu took an extreme step owing to the pressure of the NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) exam. The student was from the Hosur district of Tamil Nadu and left a note stating that he was finding the NEET exam very difficult.
It is to be noted that the student was a dropper and had previously attempted NEET exam in 2021. He had achieved a score of 160 in his previous attempt. His body was found in his room with the note. The police is further conducting an autopsy.
This year’s NEET exam has been under the scanner. With thousands urging the authorities to postpone the exam by 40-50 days.
They Key Factors for Demanding A Delay In The NEET UG 2022 Include:
- Proximity to the CBSE class 12th Board Exams (Ended on June 15th, 2022)
- Overlap with CUET UG 2022 Exam Dates
- Proximity to the JEE Mains Session 1 Exam (Ended June 29th)
- Late closing of the NEET UG 2021 counselling
There are many such cases this year due to the increased pressure and competition in the NEET UG 2022 exam. It is high time that the authorities take strong steps to alleviate student concerns and curb such instances from happening. Multiple student bodies have been rallying social media to get attention to the issue in vain. We recommend that students be prepared to face the exam on July 17th, 2022 (the exam dates will most likely not be rescheduled)
