Like you, I’m in the same boat. There are several different meal kit subscription boxes that are often pretty costly, and I’m not interested in spending a lot of money on something that could disappoint me. When given the choice between paying for a low-cost meal kit delivery service or a meal kit alternative that is comparable in price to yours, I’ll go with the lower-cost option. Unless I marry Bill Gates and am no longer concerned about money.

But, since I believe some people would be puzzled, I’d want to explain my remark. On the market, there aren’t many food service alternatives that actually cater to a budget-friendly option. Spending $8 or more per dish on a family of four or five is just not feasible. Even though I don’t have to feed a family of four, I’m not wanting to spend a lot of money per serving unless I’m investing in higher-quality products or more elaborate Everyplate Meals.

When I initially went to the website, I realized that there were 14 different economical recipes to pick from. It’s also worth noting that the recipes they provide vary weekly. So, if you come across a recipe you want to try, make sure you obtain it. Because it is unlikely to be accessible the following week, you should do it now.

Actually, I had no issues with the shipment from Everyplate Meals. I ordered my membership a week before a large blizzard was expected to strike the area. Unfortunately, the snowfall struck just as I was about to get my Everyplate Meals package. I was able to get it, thankfully. Other subscription services I’ve tried have left me without Everyplate Meals due to a looming snowfall. So, even though there was snowfall on the way, I still got my box turned on.
Cooking with EveryPlate
I was taught to cook as a child. My mother, a skilled baker and food writer, taught me how to prepare a variety of dishes while I was growing up. As a result, I’ve had a lot of cooking experience. I understand how to put things together. I’m simply searching for a meal kit that includes meal planning since that’s the aspect of cooking that I find to be the most stressful. It’s exhausting to figure out what to eat every night and ensure that it’s fun, unique, and nutritious. Especially with everything else going on in my life and mind.
What I Thought of EveryPlate and What I Didn’t
So, now that we’ve gone through everything in my Everyplate Meals box, I’d want to share with you what I liked and didn’t enjoy.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Speedy delivery
- Easy-to-find ingredients at the grocery store so I can reproduce the dishes I make
- Recipe cards were sent to me.
- I enjoy how the recipe cards show all of the ingredients needed in a dish.
- The spice blends I got were fantastic.
Cons:
- To create these dishes, you’ll need a lot of additional items. To prepare these dishes, we’ll need eggs, salt, pepper, vegetable oil, butter, flour, and olive oil. If you’re on a tight budget or have just relocated, you may not have all of these materials on hand. As a result, I wish Everyplate Meals had included these items in the package.
- The recipe was broken up into pieces with a lot of information in each one. It would be easy to pass over essential portions of the recipe if you weren’t cautious with how you read it.
Favorites of Mine
One of my favorite aspects of the Everyplate Meals cards I got was the chef’s advice on the tops.
The chef’s recommendation underlined with me for my Tuscan herb chicken and linguine.
When coating my chicken in the beaten egg and panko for the Panko Chicken Paillard, they instructed me to use both hands. They claim that dipping the chicken in the egg with one hand while coding with the other would help make the process go more smoothly. It will also assist to keep my fingers from becoming breaded.
They advised me to conserve the pasta water I was boiling the pasta in for my sauce while making the linguine carbonara. They went on to say that emulsifying the sauce meant making it silky and smooth, but I’m not doing that.
Finally,
My chef’s recommendation Everyplate Meals for the cheesy chicken and green pepper fajitas was that if I wanted to increase the heat, I could add a serrano or jalapeño pepper from my refrigerator. They informed me that all I had to do was slice it up and sprinkle it on top of my fajita for a little more heat.
