Although Youtubers offer long videos (between 10 and 15 minutes), the reality is that it is the short, vertical, easy-to-consume ones with clear ideas that are really all the rage, generate impact, and go viral. In fact, Susan Wojcicki, executive director of YouTube, affirms it: “investment this year will be made around short videos… The platform’s short videos in vertical format have already reached 5 billion views”.
Programs to edit short promotional videos
And what happens if budgets are tight and you don’t have room to ask a content marketing agency in Mallorca to take care of taking the photos, texts, and videos for your brand? Can you manage to edit short promotional videos even if you have no idea?
The only thing you need to materialize it is a script with obvious ideas, some great phrases (and possibly a catchy slogan), photos of your brand, and small short videos made with your mobile (and that have a certain quality of the image). Everything else will take care of time, patience and these design programs are also used to edit short videos horizontally or vertically. Take note:
Canva, a tool in which there are no impossible
Canva is, without a doubt, our favorite tool and one of the most used at Zinkfo. With its years of operation behind it, this online platform (with a freemium and premium version designed to work on computers and also on mobile phones) is simply ideal. Here you can not only make a complete and layout magazine if you want, but you can also make banners, posters, photo montages.
To make videos, you have two options: either you use the platform organized for you by theme (some are free and others are paid), or you can upload the ones you have recorded with your camera or with your mobile yourself.
The process is super simple, hyper easy to understand, with zero mystery, and with almost infinite possibilities since you can add music, colored elements, little things that go in and out, texts, etc. Are you overwhelmed by so many things and prefer to play it safe with a ready-made video template? Perfect, there are quite a few with which you can make variations and start bugging. Once you have it finished, download them in MP4 and voila!
Crello, the alternative to Canva
Crello is a clone of Canva but with a different name and a few little things here and there that are mainly limited to its interface and price: because yes, Crello is somewhat cheaper than Canva in its paid version.
The rest is pretty similar in terms of elements (dynamic elements, ready-made video templates, the option to add your clips, etc.). Easy to use, very intuitive, responsive, and formats (just like Canva) for horizontal, square or vertical videos.
FlexClip, videos how, when and where you want
If the static graphic design part provided by Canva or Crello is too much for you because the only thing that interests you is the video, your first alternative option is FlexClip. This tool, which has been in existence for no more than a year and a half, is quite decisive, although – yes – somewhat more technical… It is enough to see that its interface is more similar to the professional editing programs we used(such as Final Cut or Adobe Premiere) than Canva.
Video editing can be done with images captured by you or with templates. You can add dynamic icons and messages and give movements to your final piece (something that Canva and Crello do not allow you).
Free or paid? The platform is free as long as you download the video you’ve made in SD 420p resolution (a relatively small resolution). The other options are paid and range from 6 euros per month – for 720p resolution videos – to 10 euros, if you want to have videos in Full HD.
InVideo, the first approach to a professional timeline
A system similar to the previous one is the one proposed by InVideo and yes, we confess that this online video editing platform is the last one that has come into our hands, and we like it a lot! It’s easy, straightforward, and intuitive, and it has something that we love (because we have it in our editors’ veins), such as its timeline, that is: the place where you work dragging, editing, or sizing the clips that will make up your video.
Similar to professional editing programs (with their online program limitations), the truth is that InVideo allows you to create super cool videos to which you can add stock videos or your videos and photos, quite pro transitions, music, and changes. in the texts.
If you have never seen a professional editing program, InVideo would be the closest in approach and idea. You are highly recommended and with quite affordable prices for those who want to go a little further with the Business ($15 per month) or Unlimited ($30 per month) packages.
Powtoon, the top of animated videos
Animated videos (also called Motions ) have their space on Powtoon, a veteran platform that works like a charm and is perfect for making those videos that we like so much where the cartoons move and seem to talk.
Like the rest of the programs mentioned above, Powtoon allows you to make videos in the most popular formats (vertical, square, and horizontal) to which you can add other clips, music, and other elements. That yes, since animating an item has its crumb, we are not going to deceive you: Powtoon has a certain degree of complexity that you can well compensate with something from tomorrow and/or patience.
Its free version is limited and only allows small low-resolution video downloads, so you should consider the Pro package (about 270 euros per year) or the Pro + (690 euros per year).
Youtube video builder, a free and super easy editor
If all of the above sounds like Chinese to you and you need to start with the very basics, your starting point will be YouTube Video Builder, a free tool created by YouTube to make simple videos with photos and text.
