1) Purple Clothes
In order to dress up as a classic blue smurf, you’ll need to get the right outfit. Here are some ideas for how to do so:
-Wear a white shirt and leggings with blue paint on your hands, face and ears. Add a white beard if you have one.
-Wear an all blue jumpsuit with a white stripe down the middle of it. -Smurfs wear short pants, so consider this when choosing your outfit.
-If you have blue hair or know someone who does, dyeing it will be an easy way to achieve the look of a smurf.
If not, this option may be more challenging but still worth pursuing if you’re looking for something different than just wearing plain clothes!
2) Use Accessories with Care
Now that you have your Smurfs costume, let’s talk about how to make it better. Accessories can be a great way to make your costume stand out, but don’t go too overboard with them. Remember, you are still dressing up as a smurf.
There is no need to go as crazy as the Saturday Night Live skit where they had the blue person dressed up like a pink smurf. Use common sense and moderation when adding accessories to your outfit.
You could add an accessory such as a hat or scarf around your neck for example. And if you do add accessories, don’t put on so many that you end up not looking like one of the little people in blue skin any longer!
In addition to staying true to the theme of being a smurf, it’s also important to keep safety in mind.
Check that your costumes won’t get caught on things and rip (as we’ve seen happen before), and make sure all clothing has been properly hemmed at ankle length.
Add reflective tape or stickers so cars can see you during trick-or-treating time. Finally, never wear costumes outside your house before checking yourself out in a mirror (and using the bathroom!).
We want all the smurfs to enjoy this year without having accidents or getting hurt because of their outfits!
3) Blend In
1. The classic smurf is a good place to start! Find a blue or brown t-shirt and cut the sleeves off. You can also just wear blue pants if you want to go without the t-shirt. Remember, white shoes are essential!
2. If you’re feeling adventurous, try out your best smurf impression and make your own costume using felt, paint and pipe cleaners for whiskers and eyebrows. You can even go with a full beard if you have enough felt in the right color!
3. If sewing isn’t your thing, there are plenty of pre-made options on sites like Etsy that you can buy with just a few clicks of a button! Try searching for smurfs on Etsy and see what pops up! You’ll find some really cute little hats, skirts, shirts and so much more.
4) Get Creative
1. Dress up as a Smurfette – All you need is some green paint and a blue dress to get the full effect!
2. Dress up as Papa Smurf – His iconic red hat, white beard, brown coat, and blue pants are perfect for dressing up as him!
3. Dress up as Handy – He’s cute, cuddly, and always has a handy tool in his pocket for when he needs it most.
4. Dress up as Gutsy Smurfette – She knows what she wants and she isn’t afraid to go after it with her gutsy attitude!
5. Dress up as Jokey – With his silly antics and cheery disposition, you’ll never be sad or blue while dressed like Jokey! 6.
5) Add Color With Makeup
A great way to add color to your outfit is by using makeup. Simply find a smurf-colored lipstick, foundation or highlighter and apply it in the areas of your face that are typically colored blue for a smurfy look. You can also use blue eye shadow to complete the look.
Remember, it’s always better to go lighter and add more if needed as opposed to going too dark from the start.
When it comes to lips, we recommend wearing something like MAC Twig Lipstick in Lovesick ($17) or you can wear any light blue lipstick such as Burberry
London Matte Lipstick ($29). When it comes to eyeshadow you could try Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palette ($66) which includes three different colors that would work well together.
6) Wear an Adult Diaper as Pants or Coveralls
Dressing up as a smurf is a great idea if you want to wear something that isn’t too scary, but still has the scary factor. The best way to dress up as a smurf is to wear a long-sleeve white shirt and blue pants. If you don’t have any blue pants,
you can buy some blue coveralls and cut them off at the knees. Wear black socks and shoes, or use black shoe polish on your feet before putting on black slippers. Use face paint to draw on a red hat with white polka dots,
make an upside-down triangle for the nose with black face paint, and add two little lines of white make-up under each eye for the whiskers. Take brown construction paper and cut it in half. Write Smurfs in large letters on one side of one piece, then flip it over so the other side is showing.
Put this down where people will walk through the door so they are greeted by Welcome To The Smurfs when they come into your house!
7) Use a Pumpkin to Carry Things Instead of a Bag
Pumpkins can be used for more than just carving. They make great little totes for all sorts of things, and we’ve rounded up 9 to show you how. The number one use? To carry your groceries home from the store.
8) Cut Short Pieces From an Old Sweater, Scarf, or T-Shirt, for the Rest of His Costume
1. Cut short pieces from an old sweater, scarf, or t-shirt for the rest of his costume.
2. Draw a nose on the front of his shirt with fabric paint, and add blue dots around the edge to make it look like he is wearing a smurf hat.
3. Add white stripes down each arm to look like sleeves by cutting off one sleeve from an old shirt and gluing it to the bottom of each arm on the inside of his long-sleeved shirt.
4. Wear black pants or shorts and sneakers, complete with white shoelaces for a finishing touch!
5. Glue googly eyes onto some cardboard circles and cut out two round ears from construction paper or felt for the finishing touch! .
9) Paint on Blue Face Paint
If you are looking for a quick and easy way to make yourself look like a smurf, this is the easiest and cheapest way. Just paint your face blue with any standard blue face paint. Some people also choose to use a brown or black marker to add details like eyes,
nose and mouth. If you have any little kids in your family, have them join in on the fun!
They can either put their hair up in a high ponytail and just wear blue clothes, or dress up as one of the other smurfs by painting their faces green or orange.
